Logistics: Students will be divided into 2 groups. Half will go to Activity 1 and half to Activity 2 at beginning of the session, remain for 30 minutes, and then swap activities.

Activity 1: Nature Hike

Facilitators:

Description: Students will go on a guided nature hike. While hiking they will see many of the animals and plants that are a part of Black Bayou Lake NWR. Students will take digital pictures and use a research guide to identify topics of interest for the newsletter.

Time: 30 minutes

Activity 2: Around the Pond

Facilitators:

Description: Students take linear measurements of designated objects and gather organisms from the pond. The students will try to identify some of the organisms that they discover.

Time: 30 minutes
