Welcome new teachers!

Sixty-six new MCS teachers assembled at Carroll Junior High School on Friday, August 3, to get acquainted with Monroe City Schools and the various programs and tools within the district!

Crowd of Teachers at New teacher Orientation

New teachers were introduced to representatives from APEL, MCEA, and Monroe Federation of Teachers and heard a welcome from Superintendet, Dr. Brent Vidrine.  They then broke into sessions focusing on classroom management (led by Laura Maciaszek), Technology Tools (led by Jodie Moorhead), Policies and Procedures (led by Whitney Martin), and Insurance/Benefits (led by Fred Atkins).

New teacher Discussion Panel

During lunch, the new teachers were informed by a discussion panel featuring teachers who are fairly new to service in Monroe City Schools.  Questions and answers helped prepare the new teachers for what to expect as they step in class the first day, how to use coworkers as a resource, how to set rules and procedures, and so much more!  The panel, facilitated by Jacqueline Matthews and Rochelle Williams, featured Ebony Bailey, Shanae Herron, Joshua Mahmoodian, Robert Wright, A'Kai Solmone, April Palmer, Lucy McKenzie, Constance Clark-Wilson, Ortadius Brass, Jesse Flunder, and Briana Crockett.

Thank you to all who helped, provided refreshments, door prizes, and facilitated sessions.  A big thank you to the faculty and staff of Carroll Junior High for hosting the event at the school!
