Welcome to the Ninth Annual Northeast Louisiana Technology Fair!

    March 6, 2010

To those of you who came, we say a great big THANK YOU!  To those of you who did not, we say YOU MISSED A GREAT DAY!

Saturday was an awesome day beginning with an informative keynote address and ending with lucky winners of a fantastic selection of door prizes which included multiple digital cameras, a Classroom Performance System (CPS) from e-Instruction, a Promethean Interactive White Board from AXI Education Solutions and a SMART board from Detel Computers. Thank you, vendors, for your generous donations.

There was a large selection of sessions this year (16 hands-on and 22 concurrent) which focused on the seamless integration of technology into the curriculum. Participants learned about the 21st century learning trends, tools and tactics that are free to teachers and students from Keynote Speaker Kevin Honeycutt. He also conducted 2 spotlight sessions on Internet safety and digital tools. Links to his presentations are listed below.

Keynote Address: Trends, Tools and Tactics for 21st Century Learning (visit http://kevinhoneycutt.org/, select Downloads and then select the keynote pdf document).

Spotlight Sessions: Online Safety & Cybercitizenship and Hooking Learners with Digital Tools. (visit http://kevinhoneycutt.org/, select Downloads and then select the pdf document).

The concurrent and hands-on session topics offered a great variety of choices for participants. It takes much time, energy and effort to prepare for these sessions. Thank you, presenters, for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the educators in Region 8.

And of course, we thank our sponsors: Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators, Enhancing Education Through Technology Program, and Region 8 Teaching, Learning and Technology Center.

    Until next year....
