GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Eddie Clark, Jr., a Carroll High
School alumni has already accomplished much in his life. An honor
student, an athlete, a musician, a businessman, a lawyer and
a budding politician, he has issued a challenge to Carroll's
scholar athletes to excel both in the classroom and in extra-curricular
activities. When Eddie graduated third in his class and received
no scholarships or financial awards to assist him in his quest
for a post-secondary education, he did not accept that as a bad
sign; rather, he decided that one day he would do something to
help others who might need a financial "boost." As
the CEO and founder of Mastermind Sports Consulting Group, he
has proven himself an astute judge of character. As a local attorney,
he continues to seek ways to encourage students from his alma
mater.
Several years ago, after discussing
his dream with his mother and best friend Gloria Clark, Eddie
created the Eddie Clark, Jr. Scholarship for scholar athletes
at Carroll High School. The scholarship provides a cash award
to recipients upon their presentation of a paid fee schedule
from the college or university of their choice.
This year's winner named at the Awards'
Day Program in May is David Dunaway, a graduating senior with
an outstanding GPA, a leader in the AFJROTC program, and a multi-sport
athlete.
