The 2006-2007 version of the Marching Sound Machine has performed at the Carroll High School football games and has shown some unusual moves. In addition to the Friday night support the band provides, the members of the band, the flags, and the majorettes are preparing to participate in talent shows known as "battles of the bands." On October 7, the group travelled to Ferriday to participate in an almost annual event and brought home the first place trophy. Upcoming events include hosting the Carroll High School Battle of the Bands on Saturday, October 21. The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. Pre-event tickets are on sale for $6.00. Day of the event tickets will cost $7.00. The grapevine says that the feature band this year may be Jackson State University. There are approximately ten bands that will perform before the fans and judges that night.
