ASPHALT, SAND, GRASS, &
MUD REPORT
The spring semester is beginning,
and eligibility determination is underway for those who dream
of being a member of the Runnin' Dawgs. Although there are key
members missing from last year's district champions (boys and
girls), the nucleus for a good team still exists. Soon, passersby
may see athletes running through the neighborhood with Coaches
Taylor and Coats trailing along. Calhoun may have students running
the hills, and the track may have students meeting Earl. All
of this is a part of a sport that consists of running, running,
and more running.
Hoping to field an indoor team this
year, the coaches will be asking for dedication and determination
during practices that will be cold, windy, and possibly rainy.
Conditioning, lifting, stretching, running, throwing, and jumping
--- all part of the sport known as track and field.
Make plans to support the Running
Dawgs -- you have three home chances to see them run this year
(in late March for the Bulldog Relays, in mid-April for the Twin
City Championships, and the following week for 2-4A District).
