Area Educator Gains Master School Certification, Joins Elite Ranks of National School Improvement Program
Sallie Humble Elementary School has been awarded the highest national certification level for outstanding performance in education, Renaissance Learning announced today.
Alicia Minter, who works at Sallie Humble Elementary School, was awarded Reading Master School by the Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., based company. Master School certification indicates that Sallie Humble Elementary School's efforts to adopt Renaissance best classroom practices to a high degree resulted in measurable improvements in student performance.
"Renaissance Master Educators are at the leading edge of this nation's effort to improve education," said Judi Paul, Chairman of the Board at Renaissance Learning. "Sallie Humble Elementary School has again shown that implementing Renaissance best classroom practices not only improves individual student achievement, but creates performance gains throughout the entire school over an extended period of time."
To achieve Renaissance Master School certification, a school's leadership must demonstrate that their students are maintaining high-quality practice for a minimum of 18 weeks. In addition, educators must be actively working with individual students to meet Renaissance recommended standards and be helping each student work at the level that promotes the most growth.
In addition to national recognition, Minter will receive a certificate in recognition of schoolwide achievement, more opportunities for professional development, and other benefits to share with the school.
