Activity 6: Organizing Your Money (GLEs: 7, 8)

 

 

CC:  In this activity, have students create a graphic organizer connecting fractions to decimals to percents as it relates to dollar bill. Have them construct a large dollar which they will use as a graphic organizer and display 1/10 of the dollar, .10 of the dollar, 10% of the dollar. Have them do the same for 1/4, .25, 25%; 1/2, .50, 50%; 3/4, .75, 75%; 100/100, 1 whole, 100%.

 

Using a grid similar to the one below to represent a dollar bill, ask students to shade in the corresponding amounts of money.
