Unit 4:  The Multiplication Algorithm

Activity 11: Beat the Calculator (GLEs:  10, 11, 13)

CC:  Divide the class into two groups. A player from each side comes up to the front of the room. One student is assigned to use the overhead projector calculator. The other student uses estimation to compute the problem in his head and write the estimated answer only on the board. They are shown a multiplication flash card.
