Activity 7:  Number Sentences (GLE: 4, 14, 15)

CC:  Provide students with various scenarios that require the use of multiplication due to purchasing several of the same items. Have students write the algebraic statement that illustrates the situation.

Use the following word problems to have students write the algebraic statement that illustrates the situation.

CC:  Have students write number sentences using a missing factor that illustrate purchases at a toy store. For example

( 3 x m = 12 ) could illustrate the situation of buying three of the same item for a total cost of $12. Provide students with various scenarios that require the use of multiplication due to purchasing several of the same items. Have students write the algebraic statement that illustrates the situation.
