CC: Have students collect classroom data and create a spreadsheet of data. Create a spreadsheet on MS Excel if available.
Encourage students to determine whether a
bar graph, circle graph, line plot, stem and leaf plot, or a scatter
plot would give the best picture of the data. ... Have students hang their graphs
around the room and make observations of the different graphs of the
same data. See attached MS Excel worksheet or Word worksheet. Use MS Excel if possible. Students can use the graphing features in MS Excel to instantly create multiple graphs of the same information in order to determine the better graph.
