Compounds(3:59)

CC:  Ask students to make observations of the physical properties of the element and compound samples with regard to the state of matter, color, and other visual characteristics as well as the chemical formulas of the substances within each set. They are to place written observations in their journals or notebooks.

Students will use internet and websites listed below to search for physical properties of the elements and compounds listed:

sodium, chlorine, and sodium chloride set; an aluminum, chlorine and aluminum chloride set; and an iron II oxide (FeO), and iron III oxide (Fe2O3)
