Academics The faculty and staff of Carroll High strive to provide students with a rigorous academic core and a variety of elective options. Most faculty members share a common planning period with their department members or with fellow teachers who have commonalities within their teaching assignments. Carroll High School’s Academic Departments include the following: ELA/Foreign Languages (includes English, Reading, & Spanish) Fine Arts (includes Art and Vocal & Instrumental Music) Mathematics Health and Physical Education (includes Adapted Physical Education) Science Social Studies Special Services Vocational/Technical Education (includes Technology Education and Family & Consumer Science) Business & Office Education AFJROTC Medical Magnet (First Responder & Nursing Assistant currently available) Students desirous of ECHO (Extra Credit Help Opportunities) may take courses for Carnegie units and/or dual enrollment credit (if qualifications are met) through the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Lousiiana Delta Community College, Louisiana Virtual School, and Northwestern State University. Those students who need to reclaim credits may (with parent, counselor, and administrative approval) participate in Credit Recovery which is held every day after school and on Saturdays.
