The Monroe City School District is providing notice residents of Monroe and Ouachita Parish of its intent to submit a three-year 21st Century Community Learning Centers Application for 2022 – 2027. This Application will provide expanded learning services before school, afterschool, weekends, and summer as follows:
Academic services in all care subjects, Art and Music education, Entrepreneurial education, tutoring services, activities for limited proficient that emphasizing language skills and academic achievement.
Additional services offered will be Parental involvement classes, Drug and Violence prevention programs, counseling programs and character education programs.
This is submitted in compliance with the Louisiana Department of Education guidelines for submission and competitive grant proposals.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program, is a key component of the NCLB Act. The focus of the program is to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for students at each learning site. The tutorial services and academic enrichment activities are designed to help meet the district and state standards in reading and math.
